Just add horses

Have you ever thought about working as part of a dedicated team to help people with disabilities achieve their therapy goals?

Hippotherapy is the term used for how occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech pathology professionals use the movement of the horse as a therapy tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes.


The therapy team includes: A specially trained therapist, horse handler, HorsePower Australia Coach, two specially trained support assistants and last but by no means least the horse.

Join us for a Sundowner and Introduction to Hippotherapy event on Friday 2nd July 2021 from 5.30pm - 8.30pm. This event is open to anyone who is curious about hippotherapy and wants to find out more.

OR

Register for the training workshop in order to qualify as a registered therapist, horse handler or assistant. Friday 2nd - Monday 5th July 2021.

  • HorsePower Australia Therapist $750

  • HorsePower Australia Horse Handler $300

  • Non-member Therapist $1,000

  • Non-member Horse Handler $400

Using technology to increase access to youth mental health support may offer a practical way for young people to reach guidance, safe-spaces, and early help without feeling overwhelmed by traditional systems. Digital platforms, helplines, and apps could give them a chance to seek support privately, connect with trained listeners-or explore resources that might ease their emotional load. This gentle shift toward tech-based support may encourage youth to open-up at their own pace, especially when in-person help feels too heavy to approach.

There is always a chance that these tools-quietly make support feel closer than before, creating moments where help appears just a tap away. Even a small digital interaction might bring a sense of comfort. And somewhere in that space,…
